A Fresh Perspective: Lane’s Experience at Channel Partners Conference & Expo 2023

Lane recently attended the Channel Partners Conference & Expo (CPX) 2023 and was given an entirely new perspective on the wide-ranging world of channel partners. From Agents/Subagents, MSPs, VARs, Consultants, Integrators, and Technology Service Brokers to IT Providers, CPX brought together the entire channel community under one roof.

The conference was a unique opportunity for Lane to network with some of the most significant key players in the channel network industry and gain valuable insight into what’s required to be successful in today’s competitive landscape. This post will discuss the keynote speaker sessions, who Lane had the opportunity to connect with, and our key takeaways from our time there.

The Keynote Speakers at Channel Partners Conference & Expo

Lane had the opportunity to hear from several industry leaders during keynote sessions at CPX 2023. Some of our key takeaways from these valuable sessions included:

The Purpose of Endpoint Security

For this session, Danny Jenkins of ThreatLocker did a deep dive into the purpose of cybersecurity and how businesses can use it to its operational advantage.

MSP M&A Superstars: Understanding Today’s New Realities

This discussion was headed by Tim Mueller, Neil Medwed, Cristian Anastasiu, Cheryl Strom, and Bradley Gross. This session involved discussions regarding challenges with growth and sales, when and what to do with your growth from profitability when selling your MSP, and what pitfalls to look out for.

Achieving Customer Excellence: MSP501 Best Practices

This discussion was run by Tim Pabich, Mitch Morgan, Jeff O’heir, Anthony Polselli, and Jason Rincker. It entailed how and who the Channel Futures MSP 501 is considered the best in the managed services business. The best practices for delivering high levels of customer satisfaction were also touched upon in this session.

Lane Connected with Various Channel Partners

Lane was thrilled to meet with representatives from several leading companies in the channel network space. These meetings gave Lane valuable insights into the tools and services that top channel partners rely on to grow their businesses. Many companies do not have a faxing service today or need to streamline and improve their communication.

Working with Dura Company, DVSAnalytics

At the Channel Partners Conference, Lane recently met with fellow portfolio company, DVSAnalytics and its Director of Partnerships, Kate Fechik. It was wonderful getting to spend time with another Dura company, learning how they explore channel opportunities and discussing how Lane and DVS can possibly collaborate to better serve customers and partners. Dave and Kate had very powerful conversations about taking each company to the next level and we left extremely excited.

Key Takeaways & Fun Attractions at the Conference

CPX is a great conference to connect with industry leaders and see the latest innovations, but we learned attending the day before the show opens isn’t necessary to get the most value out of our time there. Another valuable thing we learned is that we are technically considered managed service providers (MSPs), as we offer faxing and other business services.

Finally, we learned that channel partners like ourselves and DVSAnalytics could share booth space to promote our services and reduce costs because we are under the Dura Software umbrella. Beyond the educational sessions, the expo floor featured exciting attractions like Avant’s Lamborghini and F1 simulator and ConectUS Cellular’s Nascar vehicle.

There were many opportunities to learn, connect, and have fun at this year’s conference.
