What are the advantages of internet cloud faxing services, like Fax2.0?
Internet cloud faxing services offer significant advantages, such as cost savings, convenience, and enhanced reliability. It eliminates the need for physical fax machines and dedicated phone lines, so businesses can significantly reduce equipment and maintenance costs.
Additionally, these services would be used in conjunction with your current Passport Message Server. This modern approach streamlines communication and is ideal for businesses looking to improve reliability, efficiency and reduce overhead.
Will my online faxes be secure and private?
Online faxes are built to be secure and private, utilizing encryption and secure servers to protect data during transmission. Many online fax services comply with privacy regulations such as HIPAA, ensuring that sensitive information remains confidential. These security measures prevent unauthorized access, providing peace of mind when handling important documents digitally. This level of protection makes online faxing a reliable option for managing secure communications.
What should I do if my fax isn’t going through?
Depending on the received status of the fax you tried to send, would dictate how to troubleshoot the problem. The most common issues seen are HNG_NO_LOOP, HNG_T1_Timeout or any other kind of Cut-Off. Our first step in diagnosing the issue is always calling the fax number from a phone to validate that it is a good number with valid fax tones. If you get a valid fax tone, then the best way to get resolution would be to place a support ticket with Lane. More than likely we will have to “record” the line to make sure that whatever method is being used to transport the fax out of your network, can reach the outside.
Is there an additional cost for fax numbers?
The only additional cost for any fax line would be if you had Fax2.0 and needed an inbound number ported. The is a one-time inbound port fee and a monthly service fee as long as it is being hosted. If using the hospital provided SIP or Telecom, there is no additional charge for inbound routing and locally hospital provided number. We can route your inbound faxes to a network folder, email address, or PCC Mail address.

What is a secure fax line? How can this be arranged?
A secure fax line ensures the safe transmission of sensitive information by employing encryption and dedicated lines. This can be arranged by using secure online fax services that encrypt data during transmission, protecting it from unauthorized access.
For on-premise fax, we install a dedicated fax server on your network as the central hub for internal fax communications, then add Fax2.0 for sending and receiving fax transmissions. From there, we configure the fax server software to encrypt all transmissions and secure the network with robust firewalls and access controls.
