A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Channel Live Conference at the NEC Birmingham

Lane attended the Channel Live conference at the NEC Birmingham. This exciting event unites IT resellers, MSPs, service providers, and Channel partners from all over the UK. This conference provided attendees with the opportunity to learn about new products and services and network with other professionals in the industry. This post will break down our favorite sessions and those we connected with, and fun attractions at the conference that made it a memorable experience.

Who We Met

Lane’s team had the opportunity to meet various companies in the communications technology realm and offer our services and partnership. This is where we learned that our faxing solutions greatly interested the companies we interacted with. As such, we hope the connections we’ve fostered at this event will remember us when they are looking for a dedicated faxing partner.

We were thrilled to connect with various key personnel at the event, including the sales and marketing manager of Docuware Ltd, the CTO & CEO of Ringotel Communications, the Senior Channel Manager at Yealink, the Assistant Service Manager at NTA, the Channel Account Director at Armoso LTD, The Managing Director at Xelion, the Sales Representative at Mune, as well as the Business Development Manager at LINKMobility.

Keynote Speakers & Our Favorite Sessions That We Attended

Channel Live had many keynote speakers who were well-established in their respective fields. The discussions revolved around hot topics in the industry, such as PTSN preparedness, cloud contact centers, the commoditization of the cloud, and IoT growth. Here’s a breakdown of our favorite breakout sessions:

PTSN Preparedness – Everyone’s a Winner

This session entailed how end-users and channels need more education regarding supplier availability and how the end-user could benefit from more savviness comes to the PTSN switch-off.

Global landscape of Cloud Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS)

This session was led by Wynand Smit, founder, and CEO of Inovo. He discussed exciting business opportunities and filled us in on the difficulties of starting a business in South Africa.

Decommoditizing the Channel

Evolve IP discussed the future of the channel and how service providers and resellers can continue to survive in a saturated business climate. Moreover, this session covered big telecom companies and their attempt to commoditize the cloud communications industry.

IoT Growth – Panel Discussion

This session entailed the accelerated growth in the number of devices and applications across several sectors, how accessible these new technologies are, and how they may impact the development of the IoT industry.

Key Takeaways & Fun Attractions

At Channel Live, we had the incredible opportunity to meet with other communication companies and discover what they are doing in the ever-evolving industry. We found that some companies still use fax services and were intrigued by our products. They were particularly interested in learning more about our end-to-end encrypted file-share solutions. We had interesting conversations with potential partners, discussing the advantages of our secure file-sharing technology.

As an added form of entertainment, there were plenty of fun attractions for visitors to enjoy. Attendees could play games like Mini Golf and participate in fun challenges with neat prizes such as electric scooters and tablets. Those with a sweet tooth could taste the candy and predict the flavor to win an exciting prize. All in all, this conference was undoubtedly worthwhile.
